Sometime in the early evening on Sunday August 28, my wife suddenly started hollering to get my shoes on and grab the kid. She was sitting in our living room when Lapras appeared on her Pokémon radar! Neither of us have a Lapras yet, so we sprinted for the car and drove around our neighborhood. We zeroed in on his location a couple blocks away but he did not appear despite being the first and only Pokémon on our radar. He was close. I could feel it. Suddenly he disappeared from the radar and just like that he was gone. We hung around a few minutes hoping he would appear again, but it was not to be.
It's tough to be so close yet miss out on such a rare and powerful Pokémon.
